Bruce Bishop is Certified by ACE and IYCA in Personal Training, Group Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, Functional Movement, CPR, First aid and is knowledgeable of how to treat and prevent minor and major sports related injuries. He is very passionate about teaching others about the importance of exercise and fitness, conditioning, health and nutrition, and helping in the fight against childhood and adult obesity.
Bishop played basketball in high school, college and went on to play 4 years of semi-pro and professional basketball.
Bishop started a basketball camp in 1998, which started with 4 kids who wanted to learn how to play basketball and it slowly grew to become a nonprofit organization with over 75 kids, boys and girls ages 10-17, a staff and volunteer base of 10 which received grants and donations for several years. The camp had its final year in the summer of 2008.
Bishop has experience coordinating a summer basketball tournament of 13 teams implementing a fundamental basketball training program at an after school program as well as organizing several clinics. Bruce Bishop had the pleasure of working with Royal Ivey (Former NBA player for Oklahoma City and now Assistant Coach) and family on a basketball skills clinic from 2008-2013.
Bishop coached and trained Bishop Ford High School Girls’ Team from 2011-2013 and led them to win the 2013 city and state championship.
Bishop also had the privilege of training the Philippines National Olympic Team.
Bishop has trained high level high school, college, and professional basketball players, men and women.
